Finance Manager

Salary: £45000

Due to continued growth over the last few years our Client are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join their team in South Derbyshire. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join this dynamic and growing Organisation.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing end to end financial operations for a portfolio of key Clients, ensuring effective financial planning, and providing strategic leadership to drive the organisation’s financial success. This position requires a strong background in finance and strategic management, a background in an accountancy practice environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • The provision of routine management accounts and cash flow forecasts.
  • Budget building and longer-term financial planning.
  • The production of year-end accounts, managing relationships with various stakeholders, including the external auditors.
  • Supporting with funding proposals and donor reporting.
  • Ensuring that the day-to-day financial accounting activity (pay runs, payroll, reconciliations etc) of each charity is undertaken efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing financial leadership by continually and proactively reviewing and improving systems, procedures, and policies
  • Presenting financial updates to the Executive Teams and Board, providing strategic advice.

  • Relevant finance knowledge, either by qualification or experience
  • Experience of producing management accounts and external reporting
  • Experience with SME accounting software and systems
  • Strong Excel user
  • A real team player who is willing to get stuck in
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work collaboratively with many stakeholders, including the Board and senior leaders
  • Project and time management skills to juggle multiple clients, with the discipline to manage your own time and workload
  • Self-motivated and driven
