Assistant Legal Cashier duties include…

  • Preparing, finalising and submitting Legal Aid Bills
  • Applying for Payments on Account (POA)
  • Knowledge of processing financial matters involving statutory charges
  • Liaising with the relevant internal and external bodies in relation to Counsel Fees, Court fees, Process Server fees and Disbursements in a timely manner.
  • Dealing with internal and external queries over the telephone
  • Answering and directing incoming calls including taking over the phone payments from customers.
  • Manage specialised email inbox, ensuring all queries are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Ad-hoc assistance with month-end processes and year-end audits


The successful candidate will…

Successful applicants will have at least one year of Finance or billing experience gained from a law practice and having a good knowledge of Legal Aid Billing would be highly desirable. You will have experience prioritising workloads to coincide with billing requirements. In addition, you will have excellent communication and IT Skills including strong proficiency with Excel.
